Japanese Steakhouse in Wytheville?

So I don't try and understand it because this is the strangest small town ever. Wytheville, VA is technically smaller than Excelsior and yet it has double of several fast food joints and we also have a very good Japanese Steakhouse (which name escapes me at the moment, oops). On Saturday, after our tattoo adventure, several of us went out for some grilled goodies and some sushi. It was definitely yummy. I ended up not getting any sushi because I just can't eat that much food, but my steak and shrimp was SOOOO good! I need to eat the leftovers soon! Here are some pictures of our little dinner out.

From left to right: Josh (Juice), Notsuko, and Brenton. Joshes Mai Tai was friggin good… Just saying.

Me, Sunshine (Tiffany)

Sunshine was like a little kid. She was amazed by everything and it was highly entertaining.

Oooo, fire…

Sunshine trying to catch some rice. Apparently Josh was trying to help. =)

First course: Soup and salad. Mmmm

My steak and shrimp. The best.

Here is Brenton's roll. It was called the Buddhist.

Tiffany took pictures of everyone with their food but I sadly did not. So you will have to just miss out and also trust me that it was all really, really amazing. I can't wait to go back again.

After our dinner adventure we all went to The Log House (a local bar and grill which is apparently a tasty steak house). They were having a big tiki party and Caitie (from CATS cast) was really excited about it and wanted all of us to go, so we did. It was alright. I'm glad I went and think everyone had a pretty good time, it just really isn't my scene. None of us stayed too late but that's ok. I got some good sleep! That was my Saturday! I hope everyone is STILL having a great Monday!

Tattoo Adventure

Disclaimer: I did not get another tattoo. I did get my nose pierced but was mostly just around for the ride. Also, I just finished this blog post, was about to hit publish when safari quit working and I lost the entire thing. So I apologize if the second time around is not nearly as well written or layed out. I am feeling lazy now.

*Yesterday was the last show of MoTown. The cast all left this morning. That means CATS opens soon. A little bit surreal.*

Samantha, Josh, and I decided to go down to the local tattoo parlor on Saturday and make some additions. They are regulars and pals with all the artists so it was a pretty fun time chit chatting it up. It is called Lucky's and is located right across the street from Lisa's dance studio (where we have rehearsals for CATS).

We were supposed to be there at 5:15 and Josh was planning on going first. They were running a little late though, so I went ahead and got my nose pierced to get it out of the way. It really didn't hurt at all and only bled a little. So all in all it wasn't a bad experience. My eye did water at first and I got a little light headed but I was sitting down so it really didn't matter. Here is the final product.

I had to let it stay like this so the blood would clot.

They were getting the area all set up.

She was so excited that I was taking pictures. Can't you see it =)

Josh makes the best faces!

Samantha ended up going first for the tattooing because she had to be at the theater by 7 for MoTown show at 8 and they weren't ready for us until about 6:30. Nothing like cutting it close! She decided to go with "Daughter" on her left hip. She is going to add on to this with all of the "roles" she fills. Pretty sweet. The font turned out really nice as well.

Here we go.

She is definitely happy I'm taking pictures.

Our view from the waiting area.

The finished product.

Her boyfriend waiting patiently. Jared really appreciated the surprise picture.

They headed off for the theater as soon as Samantha was finished and then it was Juice's (Josh's) turn! He got two tattoos. A star on his wrist and then the word dance on the inside of his index finger. It looks pretty good and now he has a dance moustache! Which is obviously bad ass.

Getting the placement of the star correct.

Placement of Dance.

The star went pretty quick. Look at that: not even a flinch.

This is when everyone is talking about how painful finger tattoos are.

Juice also has orange hair and it is awesome.

A little blurry but a couple of guys watching.

Real smile.

This was an ouch moment.

He was enjoying himself entirely too much.

The shop guys were impressed. They were actually really awesome and crazy!

Dance moustache!!!!

Now here are just a bunch of random shots from the shop. =)

Look at all those colors!

David, I figured you'd like this!

They thought this guy was creepy for they stuck a hat over his head.

View facing the front of the shop.

Looking in from the street.

So there you have it. Our tattoo adventure. It was definitely a good time and now Samantha and Josh (along with other cast members) are still hot with tattoo fever. So I have a feeling there will be another tattoo shop visit soon-ish. Have a great holiday Monday everyone!

Another, er, First one bites the dust…

Well, it officially has happend. While we were rehearsing at our lovely rehearsal site (which is located in an abandoned outdoor mall, just FYI), seen in Exhibit A, our Munkustrap (he is the narrator of the show essentially) injured his knee. It is our first serious injury. We were sure how bad it was until today they officially told us that there will be a replacement, at least when we open. Our original will try and work back into the show as the run goes on, but it depends on the doctors release.

Here is the location of the crime. Pardon my finger in the picture. Also, sorry for the crappy phone pic.

This normally wouldn't be a huge issue except for the fact that we have the bare minimum amount of cats and that means absolutely no extra people. Oops… So we were told today that our stage manager will be stepping in as Munkustrap and we open in less than a week.

This is Nick, the stage manager/Munkustrap. Yep.. this crazy guy. 😉

So our first injust has occured. How many more will we have? It's like a guessing game. Hopefully none but this is an easy show to get injured in. Keep your fingers crossed for us! And also for Nick! He started doing vocal rehearsal today to learn the part and will be working with Samantha the next two days to learn the dances. Monday we have a 3 hour rehearsal in which we are just working Nick into all of the dances. The break for dinner and back to run the entire show twice. Then Tuesday on the set! Yowzer!!! It's gonna be a doozie!

There is no need to worry about that now! We are all taking the evening off and we have the day off tomorrow except helping strike the MoTown set tomorrow when thier last show is over. So we are going to do sushi tonight! Yum! Then the Log House (Bar) is having a tiki party? I don't know how long I will stay but I said I would stop by. Caitie is REALLY excited about it and makes an annoucement every day. So I figured I'd show up. Anyway, today at rehearsal the air stopped working so we are all a bit gross and I need a shower! Have a great Saturday everyone and rest of the weekend!!!
