And we’re at it again.

Well folks, looks like it is that time again. I have the blogging bug and since I’m living in Japan and that includes many adventures and shenanigans I might as well start documenting those so I can share them with you all. Now it’s just a matter of going through ALL the pictures and figuring out how to present them in a fashion that makes sense and that won’t take too much time for me to put together. That being said, I’m going to read up on a few things and start sorting pictures! Just wanted to give a heads up that there is more to come! Super fun stuff!

In the Navy!

Hello all!

Long time no talk! I have some very big and exciting news though! I have officially joined the United States Navy! Yep, that’s right, I’m a sailor! And I’m super excited about it! I am going to try and keep this blog up and actually use it while I do my duty for the next 6 years. I will be at basic training (boot camp) for the first 9 weeks, so I won’t have access to it. But after that I hope to document my adventure! I am also going to try something different and use some video, or vlogs, instead of just writing and pictures. Hopefully that will be a little easier for me to keep up with.

I plan on doing a video soon on my process so far and how I’m feeling and such but for right now, a song! Pardon the video, or lack of one, it was all I could find. This is the song that always plays in my head when I say I’m in the Navy. Brings back all those good DDR memories (Lisa, Erin, Mandy). Enjoy everyone! Anchors Aweigh!

All my love,

Marked out means I've visited recently. Highlighted are places I've technically been but that I'd like to go back now as and adult. So I'm not counting those just yet.

*As of 2/4/2013 I have officially been to 10 states and unofficially to 18.

When we first arrived…

When we first arrived to Virginia we were a little excited, to say the least. So we obviously had to take pictures with the welcome sign. We actually passed it and ended up adding over 15 minutes onto our trip so we could loop around and go back. Because we are cool like that. And dedicated.

Pardon the facial expressions… It was a tad bit sunny at the moment. There was also a GIANT spider chilling by the pole I am standing on that you can't see. He wanted to eat our fingers when we climbed up. Yeah.

Like I said, excited. That is all.
This was right before we pulled into town. Notice how the sun went away after we took our pictures? Convenient. Mother nature has a sense of humor. Always.
Not only a welcome, but a warm welcome. That's Wytheville for ya.
Right after we pulled up to our house. What was to be our home for the next several months. =)
My first bedroom set up. We have since switched rooms, thank goodness. This one was a little (lot) moldy. Gotta love basements of old houses in a very wet climate. Yikes.
Well, that was the day we arrived to Wytheville, VA. It was quite a day to say the least but it was a great day. Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.

Let the Adventure Begin…

So, it has taken me longer than I expected to get settled in and begin blogging about the adventure. Sorry about that. So far it has been amazing with lots of dancing and singing and not enough sleep. But I will start at the beginning. I haven't been taking as many pictures as I should have been, so you'll have to forgive me for that.

I left Kansas City Saturday, August 11. I am super glad that I had Brenton to keep me company on the long 14 hour drive. Also that we had a Kevin pit stop in Nashville.

The parentals saw us off. Helping us stuff my car with all our belongings. They are the best!

And our trip has officially begun!

We made it to St. Louis fairly quickly. Here is proof. =)

Nice scenery through Tennessee. Pretty trees! Smooth sailing on the roads as well!

Hello, Nashville! We made it! First day of driving complete.

Next blog will be about our short visit in Nashville! Lots of puppy pictures. Coming soon.
